Lesson day 8

So, lots of you have been asking about the photo editing class I've been taking. It is from Jessica Sprague and today is the last day. You had to be signed up for it the week before it started in order to take it and I don't know that they are taking any late registrations, but here is the link to her site in case any of you want to sign up to take any of her classes.

It has been really fun! I am a week behind still, but here is my photo from lesson 8. It was adding a texture overlay and also adding text to your photo. Here is my photo. I actually put the photo on a layout, but the kit I did it with is not out yet, so you will have to wait another week or so until it is released to see it.

Lesson 6

OK, I'm finally caught up, so I can quit boring you for the day. This technique uses blending modes to make it look like an old photograph through an old camera viewfinder. It was another fun one. We were assigned to do the technique and then go back and add one of the other techniques we used in previous lessons, so I added a texture layer also.

lesson 5

OK, another WAYYY FUNNN lesson! This was adding texture to photographs. I have added texture to papers and elements when I design kits, but I haven't done it to a photograph. This is actually three different textures. In the lesson, she used a B&W photo, but I used a color one that I desaturated slightly and then used. I love how it looks. Here is my original photo and below is the photo after the lesson.

Lesson 4

This lesson was on using a photo mask. I have used photo masks before, so that wasn't new, but she did teach a new way to clip that I didn't know before. It is the same amount of steps as the way I did it before, so I will probably stick with my old way since it is such a habit, but it was good to learn a new way too! I love the look of this mask. This photo is of some lavender at a lavender farm that is pretty close to my house. It wasn't in full bloom yet, but it was still really pretty.

Lesson 3

OOHHH! I really liked this lesson. We created a vintage recolored photograph with this lesson. Here is my original photograph

And here is my vintage photograph with the cheeks recolorized. This one was wayyy fun! I love the look of this photo.

Lesson 2

K, you might all get sick of me today, but I am playing catch up on my Jessica Sprague classes and posting everything here. Less on 2 was on using brushes and the color picker. I use the color picker all the time, but I haven't used brushes where they work like a stamp before, so this was a first for me. It was fun. This is my middle son on a super long slip n slide.

I'm a SAHM to a special needs little girl. I only started digital scrapbooking in February, but have been traditional scrapbooking since I was old enough to find and use my mom's paper and scissors. I am big into blogging and have a large following on my personal blog (http://obyandtarabennett.blogspot.com/), as well as the blog I run to celebrate the lives of special needs kiddos (http://kidzorg.blogspot.com/). It would be an honor to be part of your team!

RONDA & TAMI

We are sisters who stumbled upon the world of digital scrapbooking while visiting together in October, 2008. We were both very active paper scrappers and had sworn that we would never go digital. But after looking more closely at all the possibilities that digital scrapbooking held it didn't take too long to give in and in March we started releasing kits of our own designs. One of the things that we feel sets us apart from many other digital scrapbookers is our desire to create layouts that have more of a paper scrapbooking look to them. Once we discovered we could digitally scrapbook the same way we had been paper scrapbooking, we were hooked! The inspiration for our layouts comes mainly from our kids (Tami has 4 and Ronda has 3) and we are both years behind with lots of pictures to get done, but we're happy to say we have made a lot of progress this year.We are so excited to be a part of the Scrap 'N Pieces CT. We have admired Lori's quick pages since we first discovered her and are thrilled at the chance to get to work with her new designs!

NARCICCA

My name is Zsuzsanna (Susanna in english). My nickname is Narcicca. I am 23 years old, and I live in Hungary. I'm studying architecture at university. I started digital scrapbooking in october of last year and I love it! In my free time I love to scrap, cook, and hang out with friends. I engaged and we live together. We don’t have any kids, but I have a nephew. So I have plenty of things to scrap about!

MARIA

I am a stay at home mom of two wonderful kids: Bruno, who just turned 9 and Lorena, 2 1/2. We live in the Midwest (OH) with my DH and our pet Daffy. Before becoming a mom, I was a Global Accounts Manager for a networking company. I think digital scrapbooking became so natural to me due to my previous experience with power point and other presentation tools... I love crafts, be it scrapbooking, stamping, quilting, sewing... If there is creativity involved, I am in it! What I love about digital scrapbooking, besides the flexibility of working with digital files, it that it is a portable hobby... I can do it any where (at a soccer game, take it with me on vacation, even take it with me to a friend's house so we can collaborate). It is mess free... All I have to do, is save my files and walk away from the laptop... I can combine it with more traditional ways of scrap booking, yelding stunning results! Digital scrapbooking is the ultimate hobby for a busy mom!

JANICE

I am a Grandma of 9 wonderful, terrific grandkids which affords me the opportunity to take hundreds of pictures and scrap til my heart's content. I started doing Digital in January when I started taking an on-line class and I am addicted. I have been paper scrapping for over 10 years and have loved every minute of the time I have spent. I live in Utah with my wonderful husband who has never said a word about all the time and money I have spent over the years on scrapbook supplies. I have 3 grown kids consisting of 2 fantastic boys and 1 wonderful fabulous daughter. I am LDS and involved in many thing in our Ward. My favorite pass time is watching my grandkids grow and scrapping each event.

BROOKE

My name is Brooke Ross. I am happily married to the love of my life for 2 1/2 years. He is such a sweetheart and supports me in my scrapping addiction. We enjoy spending time with each while also enjoying camping, fishing, watching movies. We are currently living in Indiana while my husband is going to school.
I have been digi-scrapping since the beginning of 2009 and traditional scrapbooking since I was 12. I love scrapbooking and making crafts.
I am so excited to join the Scraps N' Pieces creative team. Their kits are so fun and I am excited to see what new kits they come up with!

HEIDI - 1/2 of the design team

I don't have a bio for Heidi, but I'll tell you what I know, she is my little sister and she is very creative. She has always been an artist and you really should check out some of the other cool stuff she does on her blog (click on her picture in the sidebar). She is one of the reasons I digital scrapbook and I am excited to be designing with someone so creative.

LORI - the other 1/2

You already know about me, but I am excited to be designing and selling at Stuff to Scrap. We hope you like our kits. All of them are collab kits, one of us starts them and the other one finishes them up. We have always wanted something to do together an since we live quite a ways away from each other, this is the perfect thing for us to do together.

I loved these colors and it was even fun for my boy that has already grown up a lot! This layout is based on a layout from Jeanette Lynton's Imagine layout book and I used the Atomic Cupcake inked edge action for the photos, so cool!
