Hello Easter

Easter is right around the corner and DigiDesigns by Nicole has teamed up with Steph from her CT for a bright and happy Easter collab called Hello Easter. Easter is one of my favorite times to take pictures because they are so colorful and fun. I loved the wire words and the cute little eggs with this kit. Template for QP was from 3s Enough. I left the Easter words and eggs off the QP in case you want to use it for something other than Easter, but go to Nicole's and Steph's blogs to get the free kit so you can add that stuff back on if you want to use for Easter layouts.
This is my cute little youngest son, who has colored Easter eggs all by himself for like the last 3 years now because his older brothers don't think that is cool anymore I guess.

What's Happening

Hi all! Sorry, but I will be sparse this week. It is month end which means I run around like crazy trying to get all the loans closed that I've been working on so I have little to no time for anything else. Hopefully after this month that will change. We hired someone to help, but she didn't work out which made it even crazier because we had taken time out to train her. But, my cousin is coming to work for us starting the first week in April, so hopefully that will free up some scrapping time and I can be more regular at posting.

Also, because I have been so crazy, I haven't been posting the right peoples stuff on the right days because I've just been flying by the seat of my pants, but hopefully in another month when I get my new helper trained, I can get back on schedule.

Which brings me to apologizing to Charlie and Nicole, because they both have fun stuff going on that I haven't blogged about yet. Sorry you two!

Charlie has a great new CU grab bag for you and there is a freebie from her on the same post. So "hop" on over to her blog to find out the details. I have seen what is in the grab bag and there is some really cool stuff, so any of you that design or want to learn to design, you will want to get this stuff before it gets split up.

Nicole had a speed scrap last night. Great of me to let you know now huh? I had it penciled in on my calendar for Wednesday instead of Tuesday. I was even going to be able to make this one. I am so sad and so sorry that I didn't let you all know. I didn't even check my scrapping emails about reminders until 11:30 last night. I will do better, I promise. HELP IS ON THE WAY!

Fairytale Wedding and speed scrap results

Whoo Hooo!!! There is a fun new blog train going on with people from DigiDesigns by Nicole's forum. The kit they have made is called Fairytale Wedding and it is huge! I'm not part of the train, but I have made my QP into a page for you, so run on over to Nicole's blog (that is where it starts) and you will find all of the links to the other parts there. And.......it is all free! My QP was made with Nicole's part of the kit and the template I used was from Andrea Gold.Here is the layout I did for my son's 14th birthday.

I hosted the speed scrap on Saturday! What a crazy crazy experience. I thought I'd have time to scrap along with everyone, but between posting instructions in the forum and chat room and reposting in the chat room because of all the chat and instructions getting lost in the conversation and answering questions and getting the next instruction ready to be pasted and posted, whew..... Needless to say, I didn't even start on my layout until I was done giving all of the instructions. But, it was fun and I know I'll do it again. Here is the page I ended up with.

Here are the instructions I gave.

1 -Get 4 pictures of the same event (1 large and 3 small) the 3 small will be off to the side or below the large picture.

2 - You will need 3 papers, 2 plain (1 for background and 1 for mats for small pictures) and 1 patterned paper split into a 4" or a 3" strip

3 – Frame your large 1 - picture with a frame, mat or stitching. Mat all 3 of your small pictures with your 2nd piece of plain paper. Your patterned paper strip can be placed wherever you want on your page.

4 – Attach the small pictures with a paperclip, anchors, brads, eyelets or staples.

5 – Add a title that is at least 2 words

6 – Add embellishments of your choice

7 – Add journaling tag and drop shadows and post to the gallery

My Life

Good morning! Are you all ready for another great QP made from a kit from Amber at Stolen Moments? Well, ready or not, here it is! This was a fun kit to use for teen/adult pages but can be used for kids also, very versatile and it has a fun alpha. It is called My Life. I think the alphas are one of my favorite parts of any kit. I always love it when the designer includes one with their kits so I don't have to go searching for one that matches. Click here to find out how to get her newest kit. This is my layout of my oldest son. He hates getting his picture taken right now so he is always making faces or putting his hand in front of my lense. So, if he won't give me decent pictures to work with, he will have to live with me posting stupid pictures of him for the world to see. My title is because he gives me a hard time if I say anything about him is "cute" so I always call him either "my handsome son" or "my tall son" because he is now over 6 feet and only 15 years old. Gotta love him! Isn't he cute? Don't tell him I said that.

Little One

Here is your 2nd QP from DigiDesigns By Nicole's newest store kit called Little One. It is a baby kit, but will work for lots of other things. I did a double layout for you too, so you are lucky today!!! I loved the spring-y feel of this kit and loved the paper flowers the most. The template I used was from J2MT. Click on the preview for the download.

My siblings all came to my house this weekend for a get together and all the girls went and got pedicures while the boys went to the movie. It was my first pedicure and I loved the parafin wax dip the most! It was so fun. We went to the beauty college so it was pretty cheap. We will have to do it again! IF feet gross you out, you may not want to look at the layout.

Today I have a cute QP done with Charlie's Digiscraps new kit "Garden Magic" I used the green stuff because I love that color of green but I added a little brown so it wasn't totally monochromatic. It's kind of like chocolate mint ice cream. Don't you love that little circle border? It was my favorite piece in the kit. Charlie has a new store that is open for business, so be sure to stop by. Growing Up #1

Growing Up II

Don't worry, you didn't miss #1 yet. I uploaded them in the wrong order and I don't have time to go back and change it, so you get #2 today and #1 tomorrow. Now you knowand I've gone and ruined the surprise. Amber from Stolen Moments did a grown up boys kit per my request and I totally love it so much that I've done 4 pages for you and she is letting me give all of them away. So, because he is being so gracious, go buy this kit so you can make more pages. Template is from Fab DZines.

These layouts are of my middle son playing basketball this season. He had a great season but lost their 2nd game in the tournament last weekend, so they are out. He improved a ton over the year and ended up being the highest scorer in their last 4 or 5 games. He is my very coordinated, natural ability child. He does great in almost any sport he tries. He has been able to throw a frisbee better than me since he was 18 months old.
This kit would be great for so many types of layouts, especially sports and scouts. Go get it and see what you can do with it!!! Here is a preview of the full kit.

Apple Spice

Sorry for those of you who were looking for Charlie's page yesterday, I was having technical difficulties with saving it as a JPG for some reason and had to have my neighbor help me out, so I had to switch her and Nicole.

So, here today is Charlie's DigiScraps Apple Spice kit which is a collab with Mel Hains and it is a freebie! It has all the fun apple colors in it so make sure you go to both blogs to get both parts. I loved the alpha!!!

Here is the layout I did with it. I loved the layout, but couldn't find the perfect pictures. My kids made cookies with the extra cookie dough from our gingerbread houses so they could dip them in milk. Whoever set the timer on the oven pushed 700 thinking that was 7 minutes when it was actually 700 minutes and we were busy making our houses so we weren't paying attention until they started smelling like they were burning. The kids thought they could go ahead and eat them anyway and they would be okay if they dipped them in milk, well, they were wrong.

Life is Like A Box Of Chocolates

Digi-Designs by Nicole has her latest collab out. This time she collaborated with Stacey Towers, who also has kits that are really fun! It is called "Life is Like A Box of Chocolates" and I went for pure chocolate without any of the fluffy stuff for my layout. This time I used a template from Shaiya with one big picture. It seems like my requests are either for lots of pictures or for one big picture, so you shall have some of each this week. The layout I did is of my cute nephew

Steelers Fans

Well, I know lots of you won't be able to use these pages, but I did a layout, and I thought maybe someone could use it and since it was already done, I'm offering it as a QP. This is a double page layout using 3s Enough Steelers Fan kit and also her template. She has lots of NFL fan kits and lots of cute templates that have lots of picture spaces in them along with quite a few double page templates. Check out her site. She does some fun challenges too, so join in if you have some time!
Here are my layouts. WE are major Steelers fans at our house. My husband has loved them since the 70s and my middle son has his room decorated with Steeler paraphenelia (sp?) and lives and breathes Steelers. My youngest son is actually an Eagles fan, but his flag football team was the Steelers, so he likes them 2nd best. My oldest son likes football but isn't really a fan of any one team, so he isn't in any pictures as he opted to take the photos.

Three years ago when the Steelers were in the SuperBowl, we bought Steelers shirts and all kinds of fun stuff for the party so we were prepared when they made it to the Superbowl again this year.

Polka Dot Bikini double layout

You guys are so lucky, I have a double page layout for you today! (And I have a 2 pager for you tomorrow too) Aren't I wonderful? This is from Amber's Polka Dot Bikini collab kit with Jessica Edwards and I just love how it turned out! It has room for quite a few pictures and was really fun to do. The template is from J2MT and she has lots of fun double templates that hold lots of pictures. I loved the waves in this kit and the sand words were just too cool! Here is my layout of my cute little then 5 year old that turns 10 this week. I can't believe it was that long ago that we were last at the beach. WE need to go again! We went in November, so it wasn't really warm, but decent weather compared to what we are used to in Utah in November. THe kids had fun taking off their shoes, rolling up their pants and chasing the waves. It was a great day!
